NPS, KR Puram offers a curriculum designed to be intellectually engaging while also incorporating fun sports activities. To help alleviate any concerns, here are some frequently asked questions.

FAQ's to put your mind at ease:

Admissions are open from Nursery to Grade VII.

  • Parents interested in enrolling their child at NPS, KR Puram are encouraged to visit our website at https://npskrpuram.com/online-applications-for-nursery-to-grade-vii/ to initiate the application process.
  • Registration requires submitting a mobile number and email address and completing a verification process.
  • Once registered, an application form link will be sent to the provided email address. Please click on the link and complete the application form online with the necessary information.
  • After submitting the application form, a confirmation letter for the entrance test will be dispatched to your registered email.
  • The entrance test will be conducted either online or on the school campus.
  • Following the entrance test results, the admissions team will arrange a meeting with our Academic Team for both the student and parent, which may occur virtually or in person.
  • The final admission status for your child will be confirmed after this meeting.
  • For Kindergarten and Grade I: Students are required to participate in a verbal interaction with the grade teachers on the school campus.
  • For Grades II to VII: Students must complete a written entrance test that is appropriate for their respective grade levels, which will also take place on the school campus.
  • Kindergarten to Grade I: The assessment will focus on age-appropriate skills, including perceptual, communication, motor, and analytical abilities.
  • Grade II: The entrance test will comprise content from English, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies (EVS).
  • Grades III to VII: The entrance test will cover content from English, Mathematics, Science, and the chosen second language that the student is currently studying.
  • For students from Karnataka, the School Transfer Certificate (TC) must be submitted. Students from other states should provide the TC issued by the relevant authorities.
  • Additionally, the following documents are required: Birth Certificate, Aadhar Card, Previous Year’s Report Card, passport-sized photographs of the student, and three passport-sized photographs of each parent.

If your child is selected, an admission confirmation email will be sent within 15 days.

In Kindergarten, educational methodologies are tailored to meet students’ essential life skills and cognitive development needs. The program incorporates the most effective elements from various educational approaches, including Waldorf Education, Reggio Emilia, and Glenn Doman techniques, among others.

The kindergarten program spans over three years, ranging from Nursery, Lower Kindergarten (LKG or K- I), to Upper Kindergarten (UKG or K- II).

  • Nursery: The student’s age must be 3+ as of 31st May 2024.
  • KG I: The student’s age must be 4+ as of 31st May 2024.
  • KG II: The student’s age must be 5+ as of 31st May 2024.
  • Grade I:  The student’s age must be 6+ as of 31st May 2024.
  • Kindergarten operates from 08:15 AM to 12:15 PM (Monday- Friday)
  • Grades I and above have school hours from 08:15 AM to 03:00 PM (Monday- Friday)
  • Early Years: 28-30 students (with two teachers)
  • Primary: 30-32 students
  • Middle: 32-35 students
  • The co-scholastic activities are integrated into the daily timetable for both physical and online schooling.
  • Among the various activities offered are Physical Education, Sports, Music, Dance, Public Speaking, Arts and Craft, Clubs, and Special Assemblies.
  • The school offers Hindi and Kannada as second language options. Under the National Education Plan (NEP), proficiency in the Kannada language is mandatory.
  • For Grades I and II, both Hindi and Kannada are compulsory subjects.
  • In Grades III and IV, both languages remain mandatory, but there is a distinction based on the student’s choice of second language:
    •   If the student selects Hindi as their second language, they will study Hindi at the second language level and Kannada at the beginner level.
    •   Conversely, if a student chooses Kannada as their second language, they will learn Kannada at the second language level and Hindi at the beginner level.

Note- This information applies to students who have not previously studied the language.

  • A third language will be introduced in Grade VI.
    •   If the chosen second language is Kannada, then Hindi will be offered as the third language at the beginner level.
    •   Conversely, if the chosen second language is Hindi, then Kannada will be provided as the third language at the beginner level.
  • The school will supply the textbooks and notebooks.
  • Information regarding the specific materials will be available on both the school parent portal and the website.

For KG I, KG II, Grades I- II

  • Notebooks do not require covering.
  • Textbooks should be covered with a plain brown sheet.
  • Attach labels in the top right-hand corner of the textbook.
  • Include the student’s name and class on the label; section and subject will be added later.

For Grades III-VII

  • Notebooks do not require covering.
  • Textbooks should be covered with a plain brown sheet.
  • Avoid using decorative labels.

Purchasing the school uniform from the school is optional for parents. Upon admission, a URL link to the uniform supplier will be provided, allowing parents to order uniforms online for their children. The uniforms will be delivered to their home address before the school year begins or within seven working days. If any exchanges are necessary, an exchange counter will be available at the school for convenience.

 

Fees can be paid online, via the school app.

Yes, the school offers transportation services through a highly reputed and experienced outsourced bus service provider. The buses pick up and drop off students, ensuring convenience for families. All school buses are monitored by the school’s security team through GPS surveillance for added safety. Transportation is available on a first-come, first-served basis for students living within an 8 to 10-km radius. More specific details regarding routes and timings will be provided shortly.

 

The school maintains 24-hour CCTV surveillance, a secure compound, female security personnel, and controlled entry and exit points. Additionally, the school buses are equipped with GPS tracking for added safety.
